A-Bande; dunkler Querstreifen in der Muskelfibrille von quergestreifter Muskulatur, ist im polarisierten Licht anisotrop (doppelbrechend). Die Kontraktion beginnt hier mit einer kurzfristigen Kontaktaufnahme zwischen den hier überlappenden Aktin- und Myosinfilamenten. | A-band; anisotropic disk, a dark-straining area in the center of the sarcomere of skeletal or cardiac muscle, composed of overlapping myosin and actin filaments. |

| Adipocytus multigutturalis | plurivakuoläre Fettzelle; jede Zelle enthält mehrere fettgefüllte Vakuolen, oder Fetttropfen. Diese Zellen bilden das braune oder Baufettgewebe. Sie dienen der Wärmebildung. Sie kommen beim Säugling an Hals, Brust und im Retroperitonealraum vor. Aus ihnen entwickeln sich später univakuoläre Fettzellen, deshalb findet man sie beim Erwachsenen nur noch selten, z. B. in der Nierenkapsel. | multilocular adipose cell; cell containing multiple lipid droplets. These cells form the brown adipose tissue. They serve for production of warmth preferably in babies where they are encountered on neck, breast and in the retroperitoneal space; transform into unilocular adipose cells. Thus they are rarely seen in adults, e.g. the capsule of the kidneys |
Adipocytus unigutturalis

univakuoläre Fettzelle; jede Zelle enthält nur eine sehr
große Fettvakuole, die den Kern und den spärlichen Zytoplasmarest
an den Rand drängt (Siegelringzelle). Diese Zellen bilden das Speicherfett
oder das weiße Fettgewebe. Sie kommen im Unterhautfettgewebe (Subcutis)
und in der Umgebung von Organen vor.

unilocular adipose cell; contains one large central lipid droplet that
pushes nucleus and cytoplasm aside, thus they cause a signet ring-like
cell form. The white adipose tissue is formed by these cells. Vacuoles
develop by a gradual accumulation of fat droplets. These cells are common
in subcutaneous tissue.
